The Bluegrass Blast is the Blue Grass Council’s Sporting Clays event. This year’s event will be held on Friday, September 16, 2023. The Bluegrass Blast is an all day Saturday event and is normally held at the Blue Grass Sportsmen’s League.
Sporting Clays is a team event with 4 shooters to a team. Each individual shoots a total of 72 targets over a twelve-station course, and the Lewis Class System is used to handicap all shooters. Additionally, there are shooting challenges available to all participants, including two five-stands and a unique gravity rabbit mulligan opportunity to improve your score during the shoot. Each shooter may purchase and shoot as many mulligans as he or she wishes, and add up to 2 broken mulligans to his or her team score. Lunch is typically served from 11:30 am – 12:45 pm.
